Onboarding Participants
Before you can invite participants, you will need to create a new retirement plan by following the instructions in our Getting Started with Retirement Plans guide.
Once you have configured your first retirement plan, inviting participants to the plan is easy. If you have a large number of participants, you can onboard all of them at once with one easy step:
- From inside a plan, click MORE >Invite All Participants(in the upper right) to send an invitation to all of the plan participants
That's it! Each plan participant will receive an email to begin the participant onboarding process.
If you want to send an email invite to just one participant at a time, you can also invite them manually:
- Next, to a participant’s name, click the ACTIONS > Send Invitation

Introducing Retirement Plans to Sponsors
Setting the stage with each of your sponsors is an integral part of the Retirement Plan process and your individual success. To pave the way for your Sponsors, we recommend introducing the plan and the use of Retirement Plans in person or via email. Many advisors use a template similar to below:

Hi [Plan Sponsor],
We are excited to introduce to you a brand new tool to help manage the retirement accounts and onboarding process for all of your participants. It’s called Nitrogen. In the next week or so, you and your team will each receive an email inviting you to partake in a very simple risk tolerance process to help everyone in your plan find their unique Risk Number. Think of a Risk Number like the ‘risk speed limit’ the participant feels comfortable with inside of their portfolio. Then, everyone will have an opportunity to match their Risk Number to an investment portfolio, so they feel confident in how much risk they are taking on when working toward their retirement goals.
The process takes less than 3 minutes and you will be blown away at how much better your team will feel about their financial future.

Once you have introduced your sponsors to Nitrogen, you can include them in your process. From the Settings Page, you can choose to notify sponsors when participants complete the participant onboarding process by entering their email addresses in the Enter more emails box.
Now your sponsors will receive updates with you as participants complete their elections!
