You are now able to sync your custodial data from Fidelity to your Nitrogen account. Follow the steps below to activate your integration.
Setting up the Integration - Fidelity
In Fidelity Integration Xchange, select My Firm's Integrations > Outbound Transmission Rules.
Submit the Transmission Request
After you review the vendor and accounts to transmit data for, use the self-service tools to add or delete Outbound Transmission Rules. To request this capability, contact your admin for these entitlements:
- “Integration Xchange_OutboundTransmissionsRulesManagement”
- “Integration Xchange Admin Outbound Transmission Rules Management" entitlements
Add or delete specific Outbound Transmission Rules to meet your vendor and account integration needs. To group multiple accounts or isolate a specific account, enter the specific rule(s) for the account(s).
To add an Outbound Transmission Rule:
1. In Fidelity Integration Xchange, select My Firm's Integrations > Outbound Transmission Rules.
2. Select Add Rule.
3. Select RISKALYZE INC from the Entity Name dropdown.
- Select + Add Header and create a new header with the corresponding GNumber.
- Enter the GNumber
- Click Next.
4. Select the appropriate data masking options. For best results, make sure the following are unmasked (select “No”):
- First Name
- Middle Name
- Last Name
- Address
- Zip Code
- Phone Number
5. Review the transmission rule details, enter your full name, and select Confirm.
Fidelity Prepares your account
Once you have submitted your request to Fidelity, they will begin processing the form. This is typically completed within 10 business days.
To complete the integration process:
Please forward the Fidelity confirmation to the Nitrogen Customer Care Team so that we can finish activating your integration.
Setting up the Integration - NFS
Requesting the data feed for Nitrogen
The first step toward integrating your client accounts is to request a data feed between Nitrogen and NFS. To initiate this, please contact the Nitrogen Customer Care Team (care@nitrogenwealth.com) and request your Nitrogen user ID number. Once you have that, email your back office requesting that, "a data feed be set up for Nitrogen with my user ID [insert ID] as the "file header".
NFS prepares your account
Once you submit the data feed request, NFS will prepare your account and will alert you when this process is complete. Please forward the confirmation NFS sends to you to the Nitrogen Customer Care Team (care@nitrogenwealth.com) so that we can finish activating your integration. We'll need that confirmation to complete the process.
Choosing What to Sync
After your integration has been established, you can choose what information gets synced from the Integrations page in Nitrogen. To access the integrations page, go to ≡ Menu icon (top right of your screen) > Settings > Integrations > Fidelity.
You can enable or disable:
- Pull Holdings: Enables the syncing of client account holdings from Fidelity into Nitrogen on a regular basis. Whenever you log into Nitrogen, you should see the client's up-to-date holdings in that client's active portfolio.
Creating a Nitrogen Client Profile From a Fidelity Client Account
From your Nitrogen dashboard, click the + Add New Client button. Make sure the Fidelity card is checked. Begin typing the name of a client, and Nitrogen will populate matching client names for you to choose from. Click on the client name and then click the Add Client button and a profile will be created in Nitrogen.
Linking an Existing Nitrogen Client to a Fidelity Client Account
If your Nitrogen and Fidelity accounts are integrated, and you already have a client profile in Nitrogen, open the client profile and click on the "Client Actions" button in the top right and then "Integrations".
From here, you can control which Fidelity client accounts are linked to this Nitrogen client profile. If you link multiple Fidelity client accounts, Nitrogen will sync and combine all of the holdings into one active portfolio.
Frequent Questions
Why do I get a message that "this contact is already linked?"
Because Nitrogen pushes a client's Risk Number and active portfolio Risk Number to Fidelity, a Fidelity client can only be linked to one Nitrogen client profile.
There are a few reasons you might see this message: (a) the contact might be linked to another client profile in your account, or (b) the contact might be linked to a Nitrogen client profile in another advisor's account. If you use Nitrogen Data Sharing, you can share linked clients with other advisors within your Team. Otherwise, only one advisor will be able to have that contact linked to a Nitrogen client profile.
What if I have two Nitrogen client profiles and two Fidelity Accounts, and I want them all together?
Choose which Nitrogen client profile you'd like to keep (preferably the profile with a client verified Risk Number. Delete the other one. Then, open the remaining client profile, click "Actions" in the top right and then "Integrations". Search the client as you would in the above section on "Linking an Existing Nitrogen Client". The holdings for both contacts will then resync into the active portfolio in Nitrogen.
