It's easy to enter your holdings from RBC Betalink into Nitrogen! All you need to do is export your holdings to an excel file and drop it into Nitrogen. Here are the steps to export:
With Betalink, you can customize the view to include a variety of aspects (such as market value, symbol, identifier, description, quantity, etc.). For importing into Nitrogen, we recommend, at a minimum, having separate columns for Symbol, Current Market Value (or abbreviated as Current Mkt Value) and the identifier. Identifiers will be necessary for any alternative investments such as Variable Annuities, SMAs or individual bonds.
Open Betalink and go to the client's workbook and copy and paste the information into Excel. To do that:
- Right-click anywhere on the window that you want to copy
- From the pop-up menu, choose Copy.
- Open Excel, right-click in the top-left cell and from the pop-up menu choose Paste.
- Save the Excel file (generally to your desktop) with a name you'll remember.
From there, you can import the file into Nitrogen using the steps found here: How to Import a Portfolio From Your Custodian.
