When your firm signs a firmwide Nitrogen contract, you’ll have the ability to link rep codes from your firmwide data feed to the individual advisors who own the accounts under those rep codes. We’ll dive into the setup process in this article.

Setup process for firm executives
To start the setup process, navigate to Menu > Executive View > User Management.
Select a user, click the edit icon in the top right, then select from the rep codes available under the rep code field. You can use the search field to find the rep code(s) in your firmwide data domain that link to your advisors.
Select the rep code(s) and click Save.
Note: For the best results, we recommend establishing your firmwide data feed first and then provisioning your advisors in Nitrogen. Any advisors that do not have a Nitrogen login will not be available to link their rep codes.
Setup process for advisors
When an advisor has a synced rep code from their firmwide data feed, they can easily integrate all of their accounts into the Nitrogen platform.
From the home page, click Create Client and search for each client you want to integrate.
Note: If you are not seeing “My Firm Data” as a primary account holding integration, you can verify this information by navigating to Settings > Integrations.
Once a client has been created, all of their accounts will automatically appear within their client profile.
Synced Advisor Rep Codes in Compliance
Once your rep codes have been synced to your advisors, they will appear in the Compliance Dashboard. This gives you the ability to search and sort by advisor name and rep code. You can learn more about the Compliance Dashboard here.
Linking an Existing Nitrogen Client to an Client Account
If you already have a client profile in Nitrogen, open the client profile and click on Client Actions in the top right and then Integrations. See the animation below for a step-by-step video walkthrough.
From here, you can control which client accounts are linked to this Nitrogen client profile. If you link multiple client accounts, Nitrogen will sync and combine all the holdings into one active portfolio.
(Note: Once a client account has been linked to a particular client profile, that account won't be available to be linked to another client profile, even if the rep id is a shared rep id.)
Frequent Questions
Why do I get a message that "this contact is already linked?"
You might see this message for a few reasons: (a) the contact might be linked to another client profile in your account, or (b) the contact might be linked to a Nitrogen client profile in another advisor's account. If you use Nitrogen Data Sharing, you can share linked clients with other advisors within your team. Otherwise, only one advisor can have that contact linked to a Nitrogen client profile.
What if I have two Nitrogen client profiles and two synced Accounts, and I want them all together?
Choose which Nitrogen client profile you'd like to keep (preferably the profile with a client verified Risk Number). Delete the other one. Then, open the remaining client profile, click "Actions" in the top right and then "Integrations". Search the client as you would in the above section on "Linking an Existing Nitrogen Client."
