Navigating to Reports Builder
There are two primary ways to start the report generation process using Reports Builder:
1. Click the “Reports” tab at the top of Nitrogen. This will bring you to the templates page where you can select a report template.
2. You can also get to Reports Builder by navigating to a client profile and clicking “Try New Reports.” This will move you into Reports Builder where you can select a template with the client profile loaded in.
Choosing a Template
Once you’ve made it to the template screen, you can choose between several different report templates. Templates are preconfigured sets of “elements” that be customized to fit the needs of your clients.
These report templates are available today:
- Investment Policy Statement
- Snapshot Report
These report templates will be added into Reports Builder soon:
- Retirement Map Report
- Risk Number Details
- Current Portfolio
- Proposed Portfolio
- Stats Overview Report
- Stats Comparison Report
Soon, we’ll be adding the ability to build your own custom templates.
Adding, removing, and editing Reports Builder Elements
With your template selected, you can now see your element library (highlighted in green below), report preview (highlighted in purple below), and your report settings (highlighted in gold below).
Your element library shows all existing elements within Reports Builder. Any element can be toggled on (added to your report) or off (removed from your report). As you add elements, you’ll see the Report Preview change based upon the elements that you have added. The sample pages within the Report Preview can be rearranged to change the order of the report.
You will see the Report Settings adapt to show all editable fields on the right side of the screen. Here you can adjust settings like the client, portfolio/proposal, report name, comparisons, etc.
Note: The Report Preview does not show actual client account information. You must generate the report to see the actual data populate.
With all of your elements selected and your settings configured, you can click “Generate Report” in the top right hand corner to export your PDF.
