Autopilot makes following a strategist easier than ever with models based trading. If a strategist is making a tactical change, performing a quarterly update, or reallocating a model completely, accounts that are linked to the strategy can be rebalanced automatically. Here’s how it works.
When you subscribe to a strategist from the partner store, their models are copied into your Riskalyze account and a link is established between the original model and your copy. When a strategist makes an update, an icon will display on your copy and you’ll have the opportunity to accept, accept and edit, or reject the update.
To resolve the update, click on the Update Available icon. From there you’ll have three choices.
Ignore Update, Accept and Edit, or Apply Update
If you choose to ignore the update, no changes will be made to your model and the update available icon will disappear until the next time the strategist publishes a model update. Ignoring updates will not create any rebalances for connected accounts.
Accept & Edit
If you choose to accept and edit the model, the strategist changes will be applied to your model but you’ll still be able to make adjustments to the model before generating trades on connected accounts. For a detailed tutorial on how to publish changes to a model with connected accounts, click here.
If you choose to apply the update, the strategist changes will apply to your model and all connected accounts will be queued for trade approval in your Trading Dashboard.
Once you’ve finished your edits, or applied the strategist changes to your model, Autopilot will generate the necessary trades to keep each connected account targeting the reallocated model.
- Navigate to the Trading Dashboard in order to preview the generated trades.
2. Simply approve the trades to generate a trade file. From there, you can execute your trades by uploading the trade file into your Custodian order blotter. For more information about generating and executing trades, click here.
